IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Joseph
Defazio
December 6, 2025
Michael Joseph DeFazio, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY and a longtime resident of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on December 6, 2025 in Toledo, OH. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Michael A. DeFazio, Jr. and Rosalie M. (Najewski) DeFazio.
Born into a close-knit Italian family, Michael was the fourth of five children. He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald (RD) DeFazio, and his sister, Christine Marinello. He is survived by his loving sisters, Monica Valentine and Debbie Carrillo, both of California, who will forever cherish his protective, kind, and devoted spirit.
Michael's nieces and nephews include Lisa Nicoletti, Dina Gara, Joelle Stapleton, Joseph Marinello, Ronni Mizrachi, Nicole Jencen, along with several great-nieces and nephews.
Michael grew up in the family business, where he learned the art and skills of auto-wrecking and towing. He possessed an extraordinary gift for mechanics—able to name the year, make, and model of nearly any car and identify exactly which parts fit each one. A master mechanic, he loved the "junk yard" business and took great pride in keeping his own cars immaculate.
Michael loved his family and embraced his Italian heritage wholeheartedly, especially its food and traditions. He enjoyed singing and dancing, had a wonderful voice, and cherished music and laughter.
He will be remembered as a loving brother, uncle, and friend—a man with a generous heart. His presence, wit, and devotion to family will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace and eternal joy with God.
There will be no prior visitation. Private interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
