Obituary

Michael L. Guiliani, 77, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo. Born in Norway, MI, he was the son of the late Julius S. and Helen D. (Wygonik) Guiliani.

Mike came to Niagara Falls as a child with his family. He was a member of the first graduating class of Niagara Wheatfield High School in 1960. On March 9, 1964 he enlisted into the United States Army during the Korean War and served as a Sergeant. Following his honorable discharge, Mike returned home and married his beloved wife, Jean M. (Castricone) Guiliani, on August 6, 1966. Mrs. Guiliani passed away on January 20, 2018 after 51 memorable years together.

Michael began working at CSX Railroad in Niagara Falls and Buffalo as a security guard before serving as a Police Officer for the Town of Niagara.  He co-owned the former Towne Upholstery with his brother-in-law, Robert Brovata, and later retired from the Town of Niagara in maintenance.

Mike was a thirty-year member of the LaSalle Sportman's Club and also volunteered for the Town of Niagara Active Hose Fire Company. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.

Mr. Guiliani is survived by his two children, Michael J. (Erica) Guiliani and Cindy M. (Steven) Cracknell, and was predeceased by one son, Mark S. Guiliani. Michael is also survived by six grandchildren, Jordan Cracknell, Meagan Williams, Marissa Guiliani, Jacob Tipton, Joseph Cracknell and Julius Guiliani; two siblings, Leon (Jean) Guiliani and Darlene (late Robert) Brovata and was predeceased by one brother, Gary (Margaret) Guiliani; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 1 st from 7 – 9 P.M. and Tuesday, July 2 nd from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Michael's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 A.M. in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, with Military Honors to conclude.
