Michael Trunzo, 89 of Wheatfield, NY, passed away on September 24, 2017 at Buffalo General Medical Center.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Tom and Mary (Corsaro) Trunzo.

Michael was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area.  He attended local schools, graduating from Trott Vocational High School, and later received a degree in mechanical engineering from Buffalo State Technical Institute.  He served in the United States Army during the demobilization of World War II and was honorably discharged in 1947.  On April 29, 1950, Michael married the love of his life, Frances (Mansu) Trunzo at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls.  Mike began his career as owner and operator of, Michael Trunzo Insulation Company.  After receiving his degree, he went on to work as a mechanical engineer for various area companies including, National Lead/Titanium Company, Carborundum Abrasives, Bell Aircraft and at the time of his retirement ATSI, Inc.

Mike was a talented craftsman who could build just about anything.  He enjoyed home improvement projects and was especially proud that he built his own home.  He was an avid Buffalo Bill fan, and in his leisure time enjoyed following the stock market and investing as well as tending to his garden.  Above all, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and holiday gatherings.

In addition to his wife of 67 years, Mr. Trunzo is survived by his four children, Tom (Judy) Trunzo, Sr., Chris (Deborah) Trunzo, Michael 'Mick' (Bonnie) Trunzo, Bobbie Ann (Richard) Meredith, and was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Lou Trunzo.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Tom (Jennifer 'Bubba') Trunzo, Jr., Samuel (Jennifer) Trunzo, Anthony (Krysta) Trunzo, Stephanie (Brian) Hash, Michelle (Steve) Hilbrecht, Zachary Trunzo, Jessica Trunzo, Raymond Meredith and Rachel Meredith, seven great-grandchildren, one brother, Eugene (Madlyne) Trunzo, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was also predeceased by one brother Gilbert (late Beverly) Trunzo and one sister, Shirley Ann Trunzo.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 3 - 7 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services with Military Honors will follow at 7:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings in Michael's memory, may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital PO Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148.
