Mildred T. (Laratta) Knoll, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Thursday August 19, 2010 at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility in Niagara Falls, NY. Born March 20, 1915 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Raphaela (Paonessa) Laratta.
Mildred was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. Mildred worked as a supervisor at the former Kimberly Clark Corp. in Niagara Falls until the plants closing. For over thirty years she also served as a volunteer worker at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Mildred was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls, and a member of the Niagara Women's Club, Red Hat Society and the Rainbow Club. She was an avid card player and member of a local bridge club, and also enjoyed traveling with her husband. Mildred will be especially remembered by her family and friends for her marvelous cooking and baking.
Mrs. Knoll was predeceased by her husband Aloysius Knoll in May of 1981. She is survived by one sister, Marianne Laratta of Niagara Falls, NY; nieces Irene Luchetti, Joanne Boudreau, Patricia Sosnowski, and many other loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; her longtime dear friends Mary Ann and Gerald Vitagliano and her godchild Julianne Galie. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Susan (late Patrick) Pendancio, Rose (late Philip) Felicetti, Mary E. (late Patrick) Gerbasi and one brother Samuel (late Anne) Laratta.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday August 23rd at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
