Miriam E. Leone, 87, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on January 22, 2022 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Peter J. and Lucia E. (Garrasi) Sciarrino.

Miriam was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, and later earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Niagara University.  On June 21, 1958, she married Daniel J. Leone, Sr. at St. Mary's Church.  Mr. Leone predeceased her on April 4, 2018.  Miriam was employed as a Social Worker for Schoellkopf Health Center and Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for 20 years.  She was an avid bridge player, playing with various bridge clubs with many of her friends.  She was a volunteer at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital in the Gift Shop, as was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, where she held many positions including President and Vice President.  Miriam was an avid Bills fan and enjoyed writing poetry.  She was an amazing cook, and was affectionately known to all as Granny.

Miriam is survived by her children, Maralynn E. (Sabatino 'Sam') Giancola, Daniel J. (Laura) Leone, Jr. and Michael J. (Renee) Leone; her grandchildren, Teresa (Christopher) Niver, Daniel 'DJ' (Ashley) Giancola, Dalton Leone, Cameron Leone, Jamie Leone, Samantha Leone, and Mackenzie Leone; her great-granddaughters, Gianna and Adrianna Giancola; her twin sister, Sr. Maralynn Sciarrino, as well as by several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her siblings, Lucia (late Ralph) Beer, Peter (late Josephine) Sciarrino, Andrew (late Patricia) Sciarrino, and her sister-in-law Paula (late Joseph) Ganci.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304.  Miriam's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10 AM at St. Raphael Church, 3840 Macklem Ave, Niagara Falls, NY 14305.  Everyone please assemble at church.  Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Foundation, 621 10 ^th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.
