Myrabelle 'Q' Betty Quaranto, 91, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024. Born in Toledo, OH she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Hart) Dingwall; and beloved wife of the late Anthony 'Tony' Quaranto Sr. who she married November 21, 1953 at Sacred Heart Church.
Myrabelle moved to Niagara Falls with her family as a child and attended Gaskill Junior High where she learned to play the piano. She was a Brownie Girl Scout, a cheerleader and graduate of Trott Vocational Nursing School. A devout Catholic, Myrabelle sang in the choir at the former Sacred Heart Church and St. Teresa's Church and took part in their school plays.
Myrabelle was also a talented tap and ballet dancer. She was an avid bowler and competed in many state wide and local tournaments. While bowling at DeFazio's Alley she met her beloved husband, Anthony Sr. Together they shared their passion for the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bills, and happily attended numerous sports events and Super Bowls.
Myrabelle worked as a Nurse in the ICU Department of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for over 25 years until her retirement. In her younger years, she was employed by St. Mary's as a nurse's aide.
Myrabelle had a love for arts and crafts and enjoyed teaching Danish needle painting at the John Duke Center. A gifted seamstress from an early age, she was also a longtime member of the North Tonawanda Quilt Guild and worked at a bridal shop, where she happily made her both of her daughter's wedding dresses.
Myrabelle is survived by three children, Anthony (Karen) Quaranto Jr., James (Teresa) Quaranto, Annette Louise Quaranto and was sadly predeceased by her daughter, Michele (late Patrick) Payne. She is also survived by her grandchildren Sean Payne, Nicholas (Maya) Quaranto, Dr. Brian Quaranto MD, and Andrew Quaranto (Alex White); two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Jay, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her brother John T. (late Carol) Dingwall Jr.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 10 from 2 - 6 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY where funeral services will begin at 6:00 PM. Interment will be held privately in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to the Niagara Falls Firefighters Toy Fund, P.O. Box 271, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
