Neil R. Jarvis, 72, of Lewiston, NY, died on Thursday November 3, 2011 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Claude V. and Teresa A. Jarvis, and step-son of the late Grace L. Jarvis.

Neil was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools including Niagara County Community College and Niagara University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business. Neil served in the United States Air Force from January 17, 1957 until his honorable discharge on January 16, 1961, and continued to serve his Country in the United States Navy Reserves for twenty years. On April 24, 1965 he married Shirleyann E. (Price) Jarvis at St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Church in Niagara Falls. For over thirty years, Neil was employed at Occidental Chemical Corp. in Niagara Falls in the Caustic Chemical Department as well as serving as a union representative. Neil was a member of NERA (Naval Enlisted Reserve Association) and an exempt member of the Lewiston No. 2 Volunteer Fire Company. He also volunteered as a driver at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Above all, Neil was devoted to his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to his wife of forty six years, Neil is survived by one daughter, Barbara Lynn (Thomas) Carlisto of Niagara Falls, NY; three grandchildren, Amanda (William Rial) Carlisto, Summer (Joseph Markel) Carlisto and Lexus Carlisto; two great- grandchildren, Mckayla and Mason; one brother James "Larry" (Carolyn) Jarvis of Pendleton, NY; his step-brother and sisters, Nancy (Quentin) Farmer of Georgia; Lawrence Archie of Niagara Falls, NY; Christine (Tom) Urbaniak and Lisa (Tom) Bickleman both of Wheatfield, NY as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 – 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Monday November 7th at 10 a.m. with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Entombment with Military Honors will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the National Kidney Association or charity of choice.
