Nicholas F. Cacchio, 92 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on March 7, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Reynoldsville, PA he was the son of the late Leonard and Michelina (LoStroto) Cacchio.
Nicholas was raised and educated in Pennsylvania and moved to the Niagara Falls area in 1942. He served in the United States Army during World War II. On September 4, 1948, he married Antoinette C. (Cirrito) Cacchio at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls. She predeceased him on January 1, 2016. Nick was employed at Nabisco Shredded Wheat in Niagara Falls for forty five years and retired in 1983. Nick was a talented vocalist and member of a Barber Shop Quartet that competed throughout the United States. He was also an avid gardener and Buffalo Bill fan.
Nicholas is survived by his two children, Donna (Stanley Pikul) Morello of Tonawanda and Leonard (Diane) Cacchio of Lees Summit, MO, three grandchildren, Jeannine (Kevin) Samm Bethin, Jennifer Cacchio and Michelle Cacchio, one great- grandson, Nathan Bethin, a brother Joseph (Juanita) Cacchio of Niagara Falls, a sisters, Mary Cacchio of Pennsylvania and several nieces, nephews and cousin. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law, Vincent Morello, two sisters, Anne Cacchio and Jennie Toth, and two brothers, Ben Cacchio and Donald Cacchio.
Visitation will be on Friday March 11th from 10 - 11:00 a.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Stewart Lindsay O.S.F.S. officiating. Interment with Military Honors in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Our Lady of Peace Nursing Residence 5285 Lewiston Road Lewiston, NY 14092.
