Obituary

Nicholas F. Delgrolice Jr. 84 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Friday November 26, 2010 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY following a lengthy illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Nicholas F. and Mildred (Frost) Delgrolice Sr.

Nicholas was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools. On July 17, 1948, he married Helen M. (Tuttle) Delgrolice in Niagara Presbyterian Church. For over twenty two years, Nick worked as a millwright in the boiler house of the former International Paper Mill until the plants closing. He later went on to work for the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission until he retired as a Toll Captain in December of 1988 after twenty two years of service.
Nick was a long time member of Niagara Presbyterian Church where he also served a Church Elder and Deacon. He was also an avid bowler and member of the Lewiston Seniors. Most of all, Nick enjoyed being with his family especially his grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of sixty two years, Mr. Delgrolice is survived by his three children, Nicholas R. Delgrolice, Duane (Tina) Delgrolice and Barbara (Brad) Phillips all of Niagara Falls, NY, seventeen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Eleanor Reele of Lewiston, NY, brothers-in-law, Fred (Carol) Tuttle of Wilson, NY and Doug Tuttle of Youngstown, NY as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Nancy Zaso and Marian Conklin and his step-brother Albert Delgrolice.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 30th at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Justin Marple officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Lewiston, NY.
