Nick Cafaro, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Wednesday September 30, 2009 at N. F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Boston, MA he was the son the late Joseph and Rose (Verlotte) Cafaro. Nick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Geraldine (McGuire) Cafaro and was predeceased by his first wife, Mary (Merolillo) Cafaro.

Nick came to Niagara Falls as a child with his family. He attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. He was employed as a furnace operator at National Lead Industries, later known as TAM Ceramics in Niagara Falls, NY. Nick liked restoring his vehicles, rebuilding mopeds, working on his home and gardening. He also loved to study and read the history of the Bible. Nick also enjoyed walking, especially at the Summit Park Mall and Whirlpool Park.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Cafaro is survived by four sons Nicholas (Jackie) Cafaro of Getzville, NY, Francis (Linda) Merolillo of Monogahela, PA, David (Marguerite) Cafaro and Anthony Cafaro both of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one son Joseph Cafaro. He is also survived by five grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one sister Marie Galbo of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by four sisters Ruby Perry, Teresa Mauro, Jane D'Attilio and Anne Doherty.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday October 5th at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M.in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.
