Nina Rizzo, 95, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on April 21, 2021 at Wheatfield Commons in North Tonawanda, NY.  Born in Sperlonga, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Benedetto "Benny" V. and Leonina (Battista) Faiola, and the stepdaughter of the late Leonina (Palma) Faiola.

Nina came to the United States at the age of 12 in 1937, with her family.  On July 6, 1946, she married Peter A. Rizzo in Niagara Falls, NY.  Mr. Rizzo predeceased her on July 25, 1992.  Nina was employed at Kimberly Clark, where she met her husband Peter, also at the former Page's Whistle Pig in the Town of Niagara, and in Food Service at Niagara University.  She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Leo's Church. Nina was an extremely hardworking woman and skilled cook.  Above all, Nina will be remembered for the love that she had for her children and grandchildren.

Nina is survived by her sons, Richard P. (Elaine) Rizzo, David P. (Nathan Kerr) Rizzo, Peter A. (Leslie) Rizzo, and Paul C. (Karen) Rizzo; seven grandchildren, Melissa (Robert) Jasek, Michael (Nicole) Rizzo, Marc Rizzo, Nicholas (Amber) Rizzo, Joshua Rizzo, Julia Rizzo, and Michelle Rizzo; ten great-grandchildren; her siblings, Frank A. (Rebecca) Faiola and Annette (late Nick) Tate, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her husband of 46 years, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary (Albert) Micale.

The family would like to thank the staff of Wheatfield Commons for the kindness and compassionate care shown to Nina during her time there.

Private funeral services and entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY, will be held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice.  Arrangements by M.J.
