Norman J. 'Joseph' Rowles, 62, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Herman and Vivian (Kline) Rowles.
Norman was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. On June 29, 1985 he married the love of his life Margaret 'Denise' McKinney at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Niagara Falls and recently just celebrated their twenty ninth wedding anniversary. He was employed by the City of Niagara Falls as an operator for the Water Department. Prior to that, he worked at TAM Ceramics and Frontier Foundries both in Niagara Falls. Joe, as he was known to family and friends, was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He enjoyed playing cards and going to the Casino. But most of all, he loved playing with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of twenty nine years, Joe is survived by two daughters Pamela (Dennis) Genkinger of Wheatfield, NY and Elizabeth (Ronald Winkfield) Rowles of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one son Joseph Rowles. He is also survived by two grandchildren Zachary and Addison Genkinger; sisters and brothers Pat (Ron) Merrell of Niagara Falls, NY; Richard (Stephanie) Rowles of South Carolina; Pamela Miller of North Tonawanda, NY; Trudy (Jeff) Sanderson of Youngstown, NY and Rodney (Belinda) Rowles of Niagara Falls, NY; his mother-in-law Margaret V. (late Robert) McKinney of Niagara Falls, NY; his brothers- and sisters-in-law Michael(Robyn) McKinney of Louisiana, Mary Louise (Robert) Taczak of Niagara Falls, NY; Robert (Jennifer) McKinney of Buffalo, NY and Kathleen (Kenneth) Cloutier of Niagara Falls, NY; his best friends Pat and Lynn Gray of Youngstown, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins and his cherished dog Chloe.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where a funeral service will be held on Saturday September 6th at 11 a.m.. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
