Ottaviano "Ottavio" Liberale, 79, passed away in Memorial Medical Center on March 31, 2017. Born in Sulmona, Province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy he was the son of the late Domenico and Assunta  (DiRuscio) Liberale.

Ottavio as he was known immigrated from Italy to Hamilton, Canada in 1959 and later moved to Boston, Mass. in 1964 where he married his wife Filomena (Centofanti) Liberale on August 30, 1964.  Mr. and Mrs. Liberale moved to Niagara Falls, NY in 1966.

Ottavio was employed with the Laborers Local #91 as a laborer in the Niagara County Area for many years.  He was a member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society.  Ottavio enjoyed wine, sausage, salami and prosciutto  making as well as tending to his garden and fig trees.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, his dogs,  Vincenza and Max  but he especially  enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors  include his wife of 52 years Filomena, two children, Assunta Liberale (Gino Tortorice), Enrico Liberale (Angela), three grandchildren, Enrico A., Alexzandria D. and Giovanni M. Liberale, three sisters, Nina (Crescenzo) DiGenova, Franca LaCivita and Lorenza (Philip) Pusateri and many friends, nieces, nephews and cousins throughout Canada the United States and Italy.

Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304,  where funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 4 ^th at 9:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph's Church 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. at 10:30 a.m.  Entombment in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
