Paolo 'Paul' M. Fagiani Sr., of the Town of Niagara, NY died at home on Tuesday December 8, 2009 at the age of 69. He was under the care of Niagara Hospice. Paul was born on May 24, 1940 in Casalbordino, Italy, the son of Omo and Francesca (Raspa) Fagiani.

Paul was educated in Italy and came to the United States in July 1958 at the age of 18, traveling with his mother and six younger siblings to unite with his father and older sister and brother who already settled in Niagara Falls, NY. When Paul arrived in Niagara Falls, he was first employed at DiCamillo Bakery, later on at Rebco Steel, and finally as a laborer with Laborers Local #91 until his retirement.

Paul was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and longtime season ticket holder. He was noted for his wonderful homemade wine, soppressata and his gardening ability. But most of all, Paul enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, as well as his little puppy Sam

Paul is survived by his wife of fourteen years, Susan Mantell-Fagiani, his mother Francesca Fagiani of Lewiston, NY, his two sons, Paul M. Fagiani, Jr. (Paula) and Dennis (Elizabeth) Fagiani both of Niagara Falls, NY, twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, his eight siblings, Anna (late Benjamin) Riggi of Niagara Falls, NY; Fred (Valerie) Fagiani of Burbank, CA; Mary (Julio) Fragosa of CA; Louis Fagiani, Joseph (Carolyn) Fagiani both of Niagara Falls, NY; Bianca (George) Lawrence of Rochester, NY; Gorizia (John) Infantino of Las Vegas, NV and Robert (Dana) Fagiani of North Tonawanda, NY, his cousin Nick (Beth) Fagiani of Niagara Falls, NY, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Paul was the son-in-law, of Arline (late Charles) Mantell of Niagara Falls, NY and brother-in-law of, Kim (Dennis) Kuntz of Youngstown, NY; Charles (Nancy) Mantell of Lewiston, NY; Sharon Mantell and John Mantell both of Niagara Falls, NY. He was also predeceased by his father Omo G. Fagiani and his first wife Mary (Strope) Fagiani.

Friends may call on Thursday and Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday December 12th at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Raphael's Church, 3840 Macklem Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Ivan Skenderovic officiating. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery, Tonawanda, NY.
