Now she flies with butterflies...Patricia Ann Behers entered this world on September 10,1953 to parents Ann and Samuel Behers and reunited with them in heaven fully healed on May 4, 2019. Like the Blue Rose, she was most rare and shared a message from angels. By her tenacious spirit and life Patty taught profound lessons of dignity, compassion, and unconditional love. Patty's presence brought a room to life and her love brought people of many walks together. Blessed to be educated in one of the first mainstreamed classrooms, Patty lived a full life crafting, bowling, and proudly worked at whatever she was given to do. Guiding her to experience her best life, walking with her on her long journey home, and ultimately handing her to God for her new beginning, Patty's hand was held tenderly by many including her endlessly devoted family caregiver Minnie Swanson, her exceptional Opportunities Unlimited Family at Sy Road, most recently, the remarkable Hospice of Niagara and countless others. Guardian and cousin Carmeleen Dabney and her family personally thank each of you who gave selfless care and now cherish her memory. Perhaps a butterfly is proof that you can go through a great deal of darkness and still become something beautiful! Patty is beautifully and wonderfully made, in her honor love and celebrate everyone just the way they are!
Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY, will be held privately. Arrangements by M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
Commital Prayers for Patricia Ann Behers, written by her family and recited at her private, graveside service:
(Simultaneously prayed by family and friends where they are)
Lighting a candle, we say:
Dear God of butterflies, jeweled treasures, and angel's bowling...Thank you for sharing the gift
of Patricia with us. Through her smile and laughter, you have granted true joy to all whose lives
she has touched. You have shown us your face, the precious one of inherent dignity and
eternal beauty reminding us gently for her sixty-five years that when we hold hands and kiss
Patty we are extending that hand of love to you as well. May we carry her joy and share it
always with those around us.
We are blessed to return the spirit of Patricia Ann into your hands our Father God and commit
her body to the earth. May she follow Jesus through the darkness of death to the brightest light,
there finding the greatest glory of you our God.
The sacred bible says our true home is in heaven. Jesus when he returns will come to save us all. Bring her to share this home with her devoted mommy Ann, and all those who adored her.
We praise you Lord of creation… we thank you for your mercy and kindness… We thank you for dying on the cross and freeing our souls to be with you... You make holy the homes of the living and the dead… And only you open the gates to our forever life… You are God and our Redeemer…
In grace receive Patty, Grant her the ultimate healing of not just body but mind and spirit as you
promise... And as we make ready her resting place, comfort those who remain here to share in
her loss. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
We have prayed together for dear Patricia and as we say our last goodbye, we realize that we
will see her again anew when the love of Christ conquers all things,
Join with me in prayer… (you may add your prayers silently in your heart or out loud now)
Receive her soul and present her to God the most high.
Eternal rest grant unto Patricia O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her.
We commend the soul of Patricia. While on this earth she is now dead, in your eyes she will live
forever whole. Have mercy on her humanness, and in your goodness grant her everlasting
peace. Amen.
May the love of God bless and console us and gently wipe away every tear from our eyes. In
the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit...Amen
