Patrick J. Cerminara, Sr., 82, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Sunday April 3, 2011 at his residence while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Antonio and Francesca (Guadagnola) Cerminara.

Pat was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls. He attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. Following World War II, Pat served in the United States Air Force and later the United States Army. On February 3, 1951 he married Norma 'Jean' (Reeves) Cerminara at Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls. Mrs. Cerminara predeceased him on July 12, 2006. For thirty five years, he worked as a police officer for the City of Niagara Falls and retired as a Captain in 1985. Pat was a longtime active member of Prince of Peace Church in Niagara Falls. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and gardening.

Mr. Cerminara is survived by his four sons, Mark (Cynthia) Cerminara, Patrick (Joanne) Cerminara, Jr. N.C.S.D. both of Lewiston, NY, Richard (Elizabeth) Cerminara, Sr. of Saranac Lake, NY, Charles (Ellen) Cerminara of Doylestown, PA and was predeceased by one son John Cerminara. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four sisters and one brother, Dora (late Jim) Baranyi of California, Nancy (Ernest) DeLabio, Frances Cerminara both of Niagara Falls, NY, Rose Marie (Leo) Wrobel of Massachusetts and Russell (late Betty) Cerminara of Grand Island, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by seven sisters and two brothers, Jennie (late John) Hellman, Caroline (late Robert) Stumpf, Angela
(late Harold) Patterson, Samuel (late Beatrice) Cerminara, Lena (late Bill) Bracalello, Leonora (Alfred of Niagara Falls, NY) Ligammari, August (late Beatrice) Cerminara, and Mary Rosa Cerminara.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Wednesday April 6th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church 1055 North Military Road Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Interment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY at the convenience of the family.
