Paul G. Colangelo, 70, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on July 21, 2020 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Virgil and Theresa C. (Paul) Colangelo.

Paul attended Mt. Carmel School and graduated from Bishop Duffy High School in 1968. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Communication from St. Bonaventure University. Paul was employed as a Public Relations Specialist with the NY State Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation as well as the Director of the Parks Public Works Department in Niagara Falls.

Paul was involved with numerous organizations within his community including serving on the Executive Board with NAACP, the Board of Directors for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club. Paul helped organize the 1st Annual Kids for Kites, was active with the Police Athletic League coaching basketball and founded the Niagara Falls Women's Softball League. Whether Paul was your umpire, campaign manager, grant writer, mentor, coworker or friend, thank you for being a part of his journey.

Paul is survived by his children, Marilyn Clark, Matthew Colangelo, Melissa Steen, Michele (Brett) Szramka, Gabriel Colangelo, Alysyn Colangelo, Emma Colangelo, Bella Colangelo, Roman Colangelo and Maya Colangelo; 8 grandchildren, Daniel, Savannah, Nicholas, Katherine, Marisa, Joshua, Jessica and Jonathan; his siblings, Kathleen (Mike) Hadden, Virginia (Peter) Harrington, Ron (Linda) Colangelo, Connie (David) Locey, Rosanne Colangelo and Debbie (Chris) Carlin as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was predeceased by his sister-in-law Sharon Colangelo.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25 from 3 – 6 PM, at St. Vincent DePaul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 6:30 PM.
