Paul A. Pierini, 77 of Wheatfield, NY, passed away on Saturday October 28, 2013 at home while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Timmins, Ontario he was the son of the late Arthur and Clementine (Lake) Pierini.
Paul moved to Niagara Falls, NY with his family as a young man. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a sergeant from November 24, 1953 until his honorable discharge on November 23, 1956, and was awarded the National Defense Medal and Good Conduct Medal. On June 25, 1960 Paul married Sylvia A. (Walaszek) in Niagara Falls, NY. For over thirty years, Paul served as a Police Officer for the City of Niagara Falls, achieving the rank of Detective at the time of his retirement. He was also the recipient of the distinguished Medal of Honor twice while serving on the City's police force. Above all, Paul will be remembered mostly for his devotion to his family and always being there for them.
In addition to his wife of fifty three years, Mr. Pierini is survived by his three sons, Dan (Lisa) Pierini of Niagara Falls, NY, Kevin (Teresa) Pierini of Wheatfield, NY and Jason (Cara) Pierini of the Town of Cambria, NY and was predeceased by a son Paul (Tanya of Niagara Falls, NY) Pierini. He is also survived by nine grand children, one great-grandchild, one sister Shirley Plumadore and one brother Dave (Sylvia) Pierini both of Niagara Falls, Ontario; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday October 30th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Jude the Apostle Parish 800 Niagara Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda, NY with Rev. Edward Jost officiating, and concluding with Military Honors. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH.
