Loving and devoted Husband, Father, Step-father, Grandfather and Brother
Paul D. Sparks, 80, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014 at his residence. Born in Tatesville, PA in "Bunker Hill School House", he was the son of the late William Dice Clinton and Nellie (Stevens) Sparks.
Paul was raised and educated in Pennsylvania and worked in the coal mines as a young man to help support his family. He served in the United States Army as a baker until his honorable discharge in 1956. He was employed as a mechanic and truck driver for Pfohl Trucking, retiring in 1994 after 20 years of service. Prior to that, he worked at various jobs as an A-1 welder, truck driver and baker. In his leisure time, he enjoyed camping, fishing, crafts, traveling in his motor home each winter to the south to attend NASCAR races and gospel music concerts. Paul also liked carving wooden walking sticks and spending time with his Yorkie dogs.
Mr. Sparks is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Ilona (Lannen) Sparks, Paul's two children, Deborah (Russ) Morris and Judy Lynn Sparks both of Niagara Falls, NY, four step-children, Ann Marie (Matthew) Ruggiero, Pamela Connolly, Amy Lerch and Tracy Bonaccorso all of Niagara Falls, NY; his grandchildren, Jonathan Morris, David Morris, Daniel Koslicki and Cody Guiliani, his step-grandchildren, Blake Henderson, Darien Bonaccorso, Eric Connolly and Payton Connolly; two brothers and two sisters Harvey Clinton (late Vivian) Sparks of Florida, Ada (Fred) Foor, Rachel (late John) Ellman both of Pennsylvania and George (Lois) Sparks of Tennessee and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by one brother William and four sisters, Geleva, Vivian, Gertrude and Virginia.
