Obituary
Paula (Pinkowski) Catanese, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday March 25, 2015 at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility in Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Zaremski) Pinkowski.
Paula was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. On April 2, 1945 she married Joseph F. Catanese and was predeceased by him on August 13, 1987. She had a lifelong passion for cooking and baking, and spent many years creating wedding cakes and cookies for family and friends. But above all, Paula's greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the center of her life.
Paula is survived by five children Claudia (late Thomas) Miklejn of Niagara Falls, NY, James (Patricia) Catanese of the Town of Niagara, Joseph (Karen) Catanese of Concord, CA, Cathy (Edward 'Skip') Metzler and Christine (Randy) Good both of Niagara Falls, NY; eleven grandchildren Thomas Miklejn, Cori (Shawn) Wyman, Caryn (Kevin) Skowronek, Michael (Cathy) Catanese, Joseph (Megan) Catanese, James 'Bo' (Dana) Catanese, Kate Catanese, Aubrey Catanese, Rebecca Catanese, Nicholas Good and Daniel Good and eight great grandchildren, who were very special to her Emily, Noah, Camryn, Kylie, Julia, Ava, Lyla and Zachary and several loving nieces, great- nieces and cousins. Paula was the sister-in-law of Carmella (late Frank) Catanese and Elaine (late Anthony) Catanese. She was predeceased by four sisters Stella (late John) Wudzinski, Irene (late Frank'Red') Oleski, Jane (late Casimer 'Lefty') Stybak, Frances (late Stanley) Gibbs, two brothers Edmund (late Helen) Pinkowski and Andrew Pinkowski and also five sisters-in-law Grace Catanese, Sarah (late Anthony) Fratello, Frances (late Louis) DeFazio, Mary (late Joseph) Caperchione and Mae (late Frank) Bonnadonna.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service on Monday, March 30th at 12:30 p.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 500 Riverdale Drive, Lewiston, NY with Rev. Louis Klein officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Niagara Cerebral Palsy Association, 9812 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Arrangements by M.J.
