Peggy May Whitby, 69, of Niagara Falls, New York, passed away January 21, 2024 at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of the late Aloysius and Rita (Kelly) Debilzen.

Peggy spent her childhood in Minneapolis before relocating to the Niagara Falls area in 1996. A natural lover of all creatures and caretaker of many, Peggy pursued a career in nursing. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Our Lady of Peace in Lewiston, NY, for 15 years until retiring in 2010. Peggy was a very family-oriented woman, and was the glue that held her family together. In addition to her human family, she loved animals and always had a few in her home at any given time. She loved her dog, Dukie, as well as her bearded dragon, Spuds and her toad, Hazel. She also loved to crochet and watch TV in her down time. Peggy will be remembered for her loving heart and her dedication to her family.

Peggy is survived by her long-time companion, Rick Hall; her daughter Bridget (late Bruce) Spottedcrow of Arizona; grandchildren, Michael Harmon, Sabrina (fiancé Colin Long) Harmon, Carrie Harmon, and Christina Harmon; great-grandchildren Aiden, Anthony, Allison, Adrian, and Noah; a great-great granddaughter, Adriana, and her former companion, Richard Harmon; as well as several brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents.

In accordance with Peggy's wishes, there will be no funeral services at this time. Memorial offerings may be made to the Erie County SPCA or the World Wildlife Fund.
