Peter L. Granite, 97, of Lockport, NY, passed away on June 4, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family while under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Louis and Lena (Donatelli) Granite.

Peter was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School, and while in high school, worked at Bell Aerospace wiring airplane parts to assist in the war effort.  He proudly served in the United States Army-Air Force during World War II from 1945 until his honorable discharge in 1947, and later in the United States Naval Reserves during the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge in 1953.  On June 21, 1952, he married Donna M. (Conklin) Granite at First Presbyterian Church in Niagara Falls, NY.  Peter was employed with E. I. DuPont Corporation in Niagara Falls, NY as a Supervisor in Shipping and Receiving until his retirement in 1985.

Peter enjoyed going to air shows, collecting and operating model trains, hunting, and traveling with his wife.  In addition, he loved all things related to history and was a western movie buff.  Above all, he will be remembered most as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his wife of 72 years, Peter is survived by his children, Gary Granite and Rena (John) McCune, grandchildren, Maria (John) Schultz, Jennifer Bax, Melissa (Jeff Bray) Bax, Alfred Bax, Matthew McCune, Sabrina (Jonathan) LaNasa, and Sara McCune; his great-grandchildren, Andrew and Carmin Elizabeth, as well as several nieces, and nephews.  He was sadly predeceased by his daughter, Sue Ann Bax, and siblings, Delores (late Bob) Cassidy and Gertrude (late Willard 'Bill') Horton.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7 from 10 AM – 12 PM at M.J. COUCCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will be held at 12 Noon followed by interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
