Peter F. Pagano, 77, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Saturday February 7, 2009 at Ridgeview Manor in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Alfonso and Calogera (Tirone) Pagano.
Peter was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended local schools. Following high school he worked in the maintenance department at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Peter served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army; he was stationed in Germany and Japan, and fought in the Korean War. Peter was awarded the Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal with one Silver Star, and one Bronze Star. Peter retired from the Army after thirty years and later worked for the United States Department of Veteran Affairs as a health care examiner at the service induction center in Buffalo, NY until his retirement in 1987. Peter was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Church in Niagara Falls. He was an avid reader particularly of history and also enjoyed crossword puzzles.
Mr. Pagano is survived by his wife of forty three years Kyong S. (Kim) Pagano, two sisters; Laura (late Herbert) Herman of Niagara Falls, NY, Antoinette (late Ben) DiBella of Angola, NY, four brothers; Charles Pagano, James (Carol) Pagano, John (late Nora) Pagano and Salvatore (Patricia) Pagano all of Niagara Falls, NY, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Friday February 13th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. James Fugle officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired memorial offerings may be made to Disabled American Veterans P.O.
