Peter J. Sinatra, 89, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Monday September 28, 2009 at Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Morreale, Sicily, Italy he was the son of the late Peter and Lena (Maggio) Sinatra.
Peter immigrated to the United States as an infant with his family. On April 23, 1940 he married Lucy (Martino) Sinatra in Niagara Falls, NY. Mrs. Sinatra predeceased him on October 3, 2002. During World War II he served in the United States Army as a private with Company D 220th Infantry Training Battalion. For over forty years Peter was employed as a truck driver with Kingsway Transportation Company until his retirement. Peter was passionate about fishing and hunting, and owned and operated Fly Specialty Company, a fishing and hunting equipment supply company. In his leisure time, Peter also enjoyed gardening and playing bocce.
Mr. Sinatra is survived by his three children, Randall J. (Mary) Sinatra of Niagara Falls, NY; Arnold P. Sinatra of Las Vegas, NV and Patrice A. (John) Fruscione of Lockport, NY; seven grandchildren, Rondina (Joe) Schmitz, Randall P. (Maria) Sinatra, Ryan Sinatra, Summer Sinatra, Jenna Sinatra, Leann Gaines and Casandra Fruscione, eight great-grandchildren Mia, Nicolas, Luca, Madison, Giuliana, Victor, Angel and Alexis, one sister and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Thursday October 1st at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane R. Klizek officiating. Entombment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
