Obituary

Peter 'Pete' Talarico, 91 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday October 5, 2011 after a brief illness. Born in Cosenza, Calabria, Italy, he was the son of the late Paolo and Antoinette Talarico.

Pete came to Niagara Falls, NY as a young child with his family and attended local schools. During World War II, he served in the United States Army from September 18, 1942 until his honorable discharge on December 20, 1945. He was involved in the campaigns of Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland, and was awarded the American Service Medal, European African-Middle Eastern Service Meal and World War II Victory Medal. On July 26, 1947 Pete married Janet (Musolino) Talarico in St. Joseph's Church Niagara Falls, NY. Mrs. Talarico predeceased him March 24, 2010. For forty years, Pete worked as pipefitter for the former Hooker Chemical Company in Niagara Falls. He also served in the Civilian Conservation Corp., and was a member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society in Niagara Falls. Pete's life centered around his family, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Talarico is survived by his son Frank (Cynthia) Talarico of Grand Island, NY, two grandchildren, Courtney Talarico and Frank Talarico, his sister, Carmela (Henry) Krupa of Alabama, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rose (late Albert) Ventry of Niagara Falls, NY, Eleanor 'Curly' (late Matthew) Albera of Pittsburgh, PA, Anthony 'Tony' (Corinne) Musolino of Mission Viejo, CA, Richard (Pauline) Musolino of the Town of Niagara, NY, his beloved Labrador Retriever, Blue and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a son Michael A. Talarico, two brothers Mario (late Arlene) Talarico, Frank Talarico and one brother-in-law Salvatore (Loretta of Town of Niagara, NY) Musolino.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS NY. Private interment with Military Honors, will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the American Heart Association P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
