Phillip Lewis, 67 of Lewiston, NY went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at Niagara Hospice House after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Born in Richwood, West Virginia he was the son of the late Walter 'Merle' and Jean (Lester) Lewis Hillman and step-son of the late Frank Hillman.

Phil moved to the Niagara Falls area as a young child with his family. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1966. He served in the United States Air Force from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1971. Phil worked for Hooker/Occidental Chemical Company and Carborundum Corporation both in Niagara Falls. In 1978, he relocated to Texas City, TX where he spent 28 years working at GAF and retired as a chemical operator at Sterling Chemical. Afterwards he returned to the Niagara Falls area, and worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.

Phil was a sports enthusiast and coached his sons during their youth. He was also a car enthusiast, but above all, was a devoted Christian who loved worshipping God.

Phil is survived by his beloved wife Loretta I. Silvestri-Lewis whom he married on October 11, 2008. He was the loving father of, Phillip H. Lewis of Lewiston, Kevin J. (Melissa) Lewis of Wharton, TX and Gavin P. Lewis of Las Vegas, NV, loving grandfather of, Colyn J. and Landon K. Lewis, brother of, Judy Chew and Eddie Lewis both of Ransomville, son-in-law of, Dilia (late Iginio) Silvestri, brother-in-law of, Linda M. Silvestri and Joseph J. Silvestri. He is also survived by aunts, Alice Bosley and Kay Fitzgerald, a nephew and several nieces and cousins.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Niagara Frontier Bible Church 5287 Bronson Drive Lewiston, NY with Rev. Ron Logan officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment with Military Honors in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice or Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
