Phyllis DiStefano, 88, of the Town of Niagara, died on Monday July 26, 2010 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born and educated in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of the late Carmen and Louise Annacone.
She married John DiStefano in Buffalo on July 5, 1940. Mr. DiStefano predeceased her in 1994. Phyllis was a member of the Sanborn Seniors and the Red Hat Society. An avid reader, she read an average of four to five books a week. Most importantly Phyllis centered her life on her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Mrs. DiStefano is survived by two children Mary Lou (Gene) Fortuna of the Town of Niagara and John (Celeste) DiStefano of East Amherst, NY and was predeceased by two sons Jude DiStefano and Peter (Barbara) DiStefano. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one brother Dave Annacone of West Seneca, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by nine siblings.
The family will receive friends on Thursday July 29th starting at 9:00 AM at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent DePaul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
