Devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Phyllis (Palmeri) Infantino, 97, passed away on Friday May 14 th , 2021. Phyllis was born on March 13, 1924 in Niagara Falls, NY to James and Mary (Rotella) Palmeri. She was the eldest of six siblings, survived by Jean (late Lee) Parsons, and predeceased by the late Marie Colavecchia, late Stella (late Joseph) Ciadella, late Ralph Palmeri and late Vincent Palmeri.
She married Anthony Infantino on July 18, 1946. Mr. Infantino predeceased her in 1995.
She is survived by her loving daughter Louisa, her beloved son-in-law Angelo Morreale who she loved as a son, her three grandchildren Gina, Anthony, Marc and great-granddaughter, Sofia, as well as two step grandchildren, Josh (Jennifer) Morreale and Courtney (Scott) Kelly. Phyllis loved the extended Morreale family dearly and was viewed as a mother and grandmother by all the Morreales.
Phyllis graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1942 and went to work at Carborundum. In 1958, she became owner of the MarKay Children Shoppe on Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls. She dressed the children in Niagara Falls for three decades and it became a labor of love for her. Phyllis was a member of the Pine Avenue Business Association, as well as a past honoree. She retired in 1992 and later moved to Lewiston to be close to her family. She became a member of St. Peter's Parish and joined the Altar Rosary Society. There she made many beloved friends and she found her "Peaceful Place".
Phyllis volunteered at Artpark for several years and belonged to the St. Francis Guild at St. Mary's Hospital, volunteering in the gift shop. She was also a member of the Lewiston Seniors Center and belonged to two birthday clubs with her dear friends. Phyllis enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, reading, and at age 95 rediscovered her passion for art, taking up painting. She painted many pictures for family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 18 th from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Phyllis' Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 19 th at 10 AM at St. Peter RC Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY 14092. Everyone please assemble at church. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Our Lady of Victory National Shrine & Basilica, 767 Ridge Road, Buffalo, NY 14218 or Catholic Charities, 741 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14209.
