Phyllis F. (Ventresca) Tecchio, 95, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Northgate Health Care Facility in Wheatfield, NY. She was born in Torre dei Nolfi in the Province of Abruzzo, Italy the daughter of the late Angelo and Adelina Ventresca.

Phyllis immigrated to Niagara Falls, NY from Italy as a young girl with many of her family members. She married Samuel Tecchio at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Tecchio predeceased her on October 2, 1971. She attended local schools and worked as a waitress at Fortuna's Restaurant in Niagara Falls for thirty two years before retiring in 1980. While retired, Phyllis served as the president of the Mended Hearts Association from 1989 until 1992.

Phyllis' greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family. She was the beloved mother of, Angelo (JoAnn) Tecchio and Sandra Tecchio both of Niagara Falls, NY. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Faso of Grand Island, NY and David (Samantha) Tecchio of Poughkeepsie, NY; six great- grandchildren Jessica, Jack and Juliana Faso, David, Alexandria and Jonathan Tecchio as well as numerous nephews and nieces including nephews, Peter (Annette) Valenti, Angelo (Ellanet) Ventresca and nieces, Jean Borgatti, Gilda (Robert) Ecroyd, Victoria (Nicholas) Mongiardo and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by four sisters, Clementina (late Frank) Fortuna, Antoinette (late Anthony) Valenti, Stella (late Enrico) Silvestri, Fioretta (late Lorenzo) Ventresca and one brother Victor (late Concetta) Ventresca.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 3 – 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday December 20th at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church 1055 North Military Road Niagara Falls, NY. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
