Pietro Luiero, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Wednesday August 12, 2009 at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Brooklyn NY he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Caterina Luiero.

Pietro went to Italy at the age of seven with his family and during World War II he served in the Italian Military. In 1956 he married Vincenza (Naso) Luiero in Italy and shortly after they came to Niagara Falls, NY where he lived until the present time. Mrs. Luiero predeceased him on February 8, 1990. He was educated both in Italy and the United States and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. Pietro was employed as a chemical operator at TAM Ceramics in Niagara Falls and retired in 1986 after thirty years of service. He enjoyed gardening in his flower beds as well as growing fruits and vegetables, but most of all Pietro loved his grandchildren who were always in his thoughts.

Mr. Luiero is survived by two children Katherine L. Luero and Joseph A. (LuAnne) Luero both of Niagara Falls, NY; two grandchildren Peter Vincent Luero and Michael Joseph Luero both of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister Maria (late Arturro) Maladona of Lockport, NY; one brother Felice (Linda) Romeo of Youngstown, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 – 8 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 468 19TH STREET, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday August 17th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
