Obituary

Rachel J. (Beretta) Pallaci, 84, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Monday, October 6, 2014 at her residence while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Tarentum, PA she was the daughter of the late Victor and Justina (Rizzo) Beretta.

Rachel came to the Niagara Falls area with her family at the age of fifteen. On October 16, 1950 she married Vincent J. Pallaci at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Pallaci predeceased her on February 6, 2011. She was employed at the former J.N. Adams Department Store on Falls Street in Niagara Falls and afterwards, the Niagara Falls Board of Education as a cook. Rachel was a former member of the I.S.D.A. (Italian Sons and Daughters of America) Cataract Lodge in Niagara Falls. In her leisure time, she enjoyed dancing, ceramics and especially loved taking cruises.

Rachel is survived by her four sons, Joseph R. (MaryLouise) Pallaci, James M. (Anne Smith) Pallaci, John D. (Patricia) Pallaci and Frank V. (Maria Reele) Pallaci all of Niagara Falls, NY; twelve grandchildren, Dr. Michael (Denise) Pallaci, Tiffany Pallaci, Karen Smith, Vincent J. (Felicia) Pallaci, Amber Pallaci, Joseph V. (Katie) Pallaci, Vincent T. (Adriana) Pallaci, Chantel (Steve) Hulsizer, Anthony (Kelly) Pallaci, Ashley (fiancé Steven Pino) Pallaci, Matthew Pallaci and Adrianna Pallaci; nineteen great-grandchildren, two sisters Mary Lou (Matthew) Laughlin of Lewiston, NY and Philomena (late Carmine "Sonny") Abbondante of New Jersey; her sister-in-law Marie (Donald) Donahue of Amherst, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday October 9th at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY with Rev. Msgr. David LiPuma officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
