Ralph A. Chille 81, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Tuesday February 8, 2011 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Boniello) Chille.
Ralph was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1947. He then received a Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science and a Masters Degree in Education and Administration from Niagara University in Lewiston, NY. Ralph served in the United States Army during the post World War II Occupation of Germany during the mid 1950's. On November 17, 1962 he married Ezita H. (Dal Bianco) Chille at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario, Canada.
Ralph was employed in the Niagara Falls School system for 31 years starting his career as a Science and Math Teacher, Guidance Counselor, School Administrator and later Director of Pupil Personnel at Central Office until his retirement in 1986. Ralph also worked as a US Customs and Immigration Officer and was the former Deputy Director of Niagara Cerebral Palsy.
Mr. Chille followed in his father's footsteps serving on the Niagara Falls Board of Education. Ralph was also active in many religious, civic and community activities. For 52 years he has been an avid bowler in multiple leagues in the Niagara Falls area usually playing anchor man. Most of all, Ralph's life centered around his loving family.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, Mr. Chille is survived by his three children, Maria T. (Steve) Zafuto of Niagara Falls, NY, Christine M. (Bob) Crooks of North Tonawanda, NY and Ralph A. Chille Jr. of Amherst, NY, four grandchildren, Stephen and Olivia Zafuto, Courtney and Kyle Crooks, one brother Albert J (Patricia) Chille Lewiston, NY, lifelong friend and adopted brother Nicholas Minicucci and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Chille was the brother-in-law of the late Vincent (late Miria) Dal Bianco and the late Mary Ann Chille.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 11th at 10:00 A.M. in St. John De LaSalle Church 8477 Buffalo Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Slawomir Siok Officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. If desired memorials may be made to Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence 5285 Lewiston Road, Lewiston, NY or to St. John DeLaSalle Church.
