Ralph L. "Wally" Wallace, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Tuesday September 13, 2011. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada he was the son of the late James and Agnes (Leslie) Wallace.
Wally attended school in Canada and moved to Niagara Falls, NY in 1954. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal from June 16, 1952 until his honorable discharge on May 8, 1954 and was the recipient of a Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, a United Nations Service Medal and a National Defense Service Medal.
On February 25, 1956 he married Shirley J. (Horne) Wallace in Ridgeway, Ontario. Wally was employed at Union Carbide in Niagara Falls, NY and retired as a foreman after thirty five years of service. He was a member and served as a former Quartermaster of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign War) Niagara Falls Post #54 but most of all, he will be remembered as a loving family man.
In addition to his wife of fifty-five years he survived by four children Bryan (Kim) Wallace of Kingsville, OH, Brenda L. Wallace, Tom Wallace, and Beth J. Wallace Lacey all of Niagara Falls, NY; several grandchildren, one great-grandson and nieces and nephews. Wally was predeceased by one sister and one brother.
