Ramon S. “Ray” Mitten, 58, of Sanborn, NY, passed away suddenly on July 9, 2026. Born on January 17, 1968, in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of Sandra (Mitten) Silversmith and the late Gary Silversmith.

Ray was a proud member of the Seneca Nation, Bear Clan. For over 25 years, he was employed by Mader Construction as a dedicated Taper and Finisher, and he was also a member of the Painter District Council #4.

Ray enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Bandits with his wife, and he treasured every moment spent with his family—especially his beloved grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, son, father, and grandpa.

In addition to his mother, Sandra, Ray is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Mt. Pleasant) Mitten, with whom he shared 38 wonderful years; his sons, Jonathan Printup and Lucas Mitten; his father‑in‑law, Roger Mt. Pleasant; his granddaughters, Brianna, Chenoa, and Tazanna Printup, and Alissa Sahr; his grandsons, Joey Chrysler, Nodin and Carmello Printup, Logan Mitten, Harlan Seneca, and Landon; three great‑grandchildren; his sister‑in‑law, Kim (Chris) Dunning; his nieces, Victoria and Alexandria Mt. Pleasant, Elizabeth (Matt) Dunning; and his nephew, Robert (Maddi) McMicking; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition to his father, Gary, Ray was predeceased by his son, Dave “Big D” Printup; his mother‑in‑law, Elaine Mt. Pleasant; his sister‑in‑law, Kathy Mt. Pleasant; as well as his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, from 11 AM to 12 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin at 12 PM. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
