Raymond A. Biondi, 76, of Wheatfield, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at home after a brief illness. Born March 1, 1932 in Buffalo NY, he was the son of the late Louis and Anita (Ghiandoni) Biondi.
Ray graduated from Buffalo Technical High School in 1950. During the Korean War he served as an Airman First Class in the U.S. Air Force from May 31, 1951 until his honorable discharge on May 31, 1955 and was the recipient of a National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He was employed locally by Martin Marietta in Somerset; Bell Aerospace in Wheatfield and Sierra Research in Buffalo, NY until retiring in 1996.
Ray was predeceased by his wife of forty years, Jean J. Biondi who died June 29, 2004, he is survived by five children Debra (William) Wendt of Machias, NY; John (Pamela) Gonzalez, Paul (Teresa) Biondi, both of Niagara Falls, James (Linda) Biondi of Grand Island and Cheryl (Russell) Quarantello of Lewiston, NY and will be missed by his companion Barbara Bellanca. Survivors also include brothers and sisters Howard Biondi, Rudolph Bondi, Marie (Biondi) Laburna, Pam (Biondi) Dolce, Anita (Biondi) Bednarz and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by one sister Norma Biondi.
Raymond enjoyed golfing, bowling in various local leagues, spending time with his family and his loving companion Barbara.
