Obituary

Raymond J. Corsaro, 68, died following a lengthy illness on Monday November 14, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of Geraldine (Amici) Corsaro of the Town of Niagara and the late Louis Corsaro.

Ray was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. He attended local schools, graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School and later attended the State University of New York at Fredonia. On November 25, 1967 he married Ann Marie (Grenzy) Corsaro at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Ray served in the Army National Guard as a member of the 199th Army Band and retired in 2002 after thirty years of service. He was employed at the Carborundum Company in Niagara Falls as the head of safety and engineering in the Research and Development Department. He also worked at Nuttall Gear in Niagara Falls, NY.

Ray served on the board of directors and as president for eight years of the Hyde Park Little League. He was also a member and former president of the Musicians Local #106 and member of the Alex Renee and Corsaro Brothers Big Band. Ray was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors but most of all his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.

In addition to his wife of forty three years and his mother, Ray is survived by two children Christina A. (Robert T.) Aulet of Snyder, NY and Louis A. (Jessica L.) Corsaro of Pittsburgh, PA and was predeceased by one daughter Jeanine M. Corsaro. He is also survived by two granddaughters Hayleigh A. Aulet and Ava J. Corsaro, one brother Ronald L. (Carol S.) Corsaro, Sr. of North Tonawanda, NY; two sisters Kathleen (Robert) Recchione of the Town of Niagara and Cynthia Corsaro of Niagara Falls, NY; one brother-in-law Anthony A. (Elaine) Grenzy of Niagara Falls, NY and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday November 18th at 10 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial offerings may be made to the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Parkway, Amherst, NY 14228 or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
