Raymond Salvatore Gomez, 75, a Lewiston resident, died on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Williamsville after a long illness. Raymond was born on September 18, 1939 to the late Antonio and Grace (Sartori) Gomez. He was affectionately nicknamed "Baco" by his grandchildren and "Bean" by his son and daughter.
Raymond graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1957 and later received his B.S. and his Masters degree from Buffalo State College. He taught mathematics at Niagara Falls High School for more than thirty years, and also at Niagara County Community College in Sanborn, NY.
Raymond was an avid bowler and golfer. He was very proud of the perfect 300 game he bowled in the Niagara Falls Schoolmasters tournament in 2001. He also enjoyed going to the race track, especially his annual trips to Saratoga with close friends, and looked forward to his frequent vacations in Las Vegas with his beloved wife Angeline. Raymond also loved playing softball and racquetball for many years.
Raymond is survived by his devoted wife, Angeline (Hryhoroic) Gomez, his loving daughter Gayton, his beloved son Raymond and his four wonderful grandchildren Bridget, Emma, Mary Kate and Ray as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces and many very dear friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 23rd from 4 – 8 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday July 24th at 10 a.m. in Nativity of Our Lord Church, Corner of Buffalo Road and Thorn Ave, Orchard Park, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH.
