Obituary

Rebecca Lynn (Bidell) Passanese, 59, of Wilson, NY, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Friday, January 31, 2014, after suffering from a long, chronic illness. Born in Grand Island, NY, Rebecca was the proud daughter of the late Frederick W. Bidell, and Joan (Livingston) Bidell.

Rebecca attended Grand Island High School, and later graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor's degree in Nursing, from the University at Buffalo. Rebecca was an RN. On November 26, 1977, she was married, in Atlanta, Ga., to Charles L. Passanese, Jr., of Niagara Falls, NY.

After living in Atlanta, Ga., Rebecca and Charles moved to Syracuse/Baldwinsville, NY, where they lived for 20 years raising their family. Rebecca was the beloved mother of five children, and dedicated her life to raising her children and family. She was actively involved in all aspects of her children's lives and education. She was an active member of the Baldwinsville, NY community, as a Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, Elementary School Teacher's Aide, and Officer of the PTA. Rebecca supported her children in all their sports activities, as an active member of the Baldwinsville Schools' Booster Clubs. She was also a costume designer and production assistant in her daughter's theatrical, dance & musical performances.
Becky will be remembered as a loving, giving and compassionate woman, who opened her home, and her heart, to all of her family and friends. She genuinely enjoyed being surrounded by her children, their cousins and their friends, creating an environment of fun, learning and loving acceptance of all.
She was a talented artist, with special interests in painting, drawing, interior design and architecture. She particularly loved Victorian Era homes and antiques. One of her most pleasurable pastimes was combing beaches to collect "sea treasures" and creating artwork from them.

Rebecca is survived by her husband, Charles, and her four children, Jessica Lynn, Natale Rose (fiancé Josh Lange), John Charles and Myles Christian Passanese, and her grandson, Charles Matthew. She was predeceased by her beloved baby son, Andrew Spinner.
