Richard K. Bilson, 83, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021, at Niagara Hospice House.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Herbert H. and Margaret (Ladue) Bilson.

Richard graduated from Trott Vocational School in 1955.  He joined the United States Army in 1961 until is honorable discharge in 1963 making rank of Corporal Specialist E4 and received a Good Conduct Metal, stationed at 63rd Trucking Co. at Fort Eustis, VA, assigned to West Point.   On September 9, 1967, Richard married Rita Marie Bilson at St. Joseph Church.  Mrs. Bilson predeceased him on January 24, 2008.  Richard was employed at Niagara Junction Railway (which later became Conrail) in 1976 where he continued to work for 38 years retiring as a yard conductor.  Richard survived the January 22, 1958 Porter Road yard explosion.  Above all Richard loved his family and cherished his grandkids and enjoyed being involved in their lives.

Richard is survived by his four children, Kendra (Joe) Pinkowski, Richard A. Bilson, David M. (Rhonda) Bilson and Dr. Eric A. (Tricia) Bilson; his grandchildren, Lauren Richner, John Richner, Abigail Bilson, Grace Bilson and Emmett Bilson as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his siblings, Henry Bilson, Gloria Gilliam, Doris Bechler, Robert Bilson, William Bilson, Betty Coleman, Nancy Bolender and Joyce Orourke.
