Richard Gasbarre, 62, of Bolivar, NY, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2016. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the loving son of the late Joseph and Ruby (Ingram) Gasbarre.
Rick was a graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School and served in the United States Marines until his honorable discharge in 1973. On August 31, 1985 he married the former Karen Walsh. Rick was employed as an electrician at Union Carbide until becoming disabled.
Rick loved to hunt and fulfilled a dream of a moose expedition in the Newfoundland wild. His cabin was filled with his beloved hunting exploits. Rick had a great sense of "get-er-done" humor and was a father figure to all of his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Above all, Rick enjoyed being with his family, especially his only grandson, Joey.
Mr. Gasbarre is survived by his two children Joseph (Alyssa) Gasbarre, Christa Gasbarre and his grandson Joey. He is also survived by his siblings James Gasbarre and Suzanne Robins; cousin, Sam (Donna) Gasbarre, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Carmen Gasbarre and cousin, Steve Gasbarre.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 5th from 4 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday, at 10:00 A.M. at St Vincent de Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, with Richard's son, the Rev. Joseph Gasbarre officiating and concluding with Military Honors.
