Richard Passalacqua, 97, of Lewiston, NY, died on Monday December 23, 2013 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Lipari, Sicily, Italy he was the son of the late John and Candida (Sidoti) Passalacqua.

Richard was educated in Italy and in 1941 he immigrated to the United States and settled in the Niagara Falls area where he lived until the present time. Richard worked as a private contractor retiring in 1972. He also owned and operated the former Riviera Motel and Ricardo's Restaurant located at 66th Street and Niagara Falls Boulevard in Niagara Falls. Richard was hard working and enjoyed tending to his tomato garden and playing card games particularly gin rummy. Richard will most be remembered for his devotion to his family, especially his grandchildren who he loved spending time with.

Richard was predeceased by his wife Felicia (Calabro) Passalacqua on December 24, 2006. He is survived by three children Candida (Raymond) Gueli of Rochester, NY; John (Michele) Passalacqua and Frances Marie (late John) Mazzocchi both of Lewiston, NY; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one brother Felix Merlino of Missouri and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by two brothers Frank Passalacqua and Anthony Merlino.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday December 27th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 27th Street and Independence Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev Duane Klizek officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston, NY.
