Richard E. 'Rich' Weber, 69, of Grand Island, NY, passed away on August 15, 2021 at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Troutville, PA, he was the son of the late Harold R. and Grace (Wolfe) Weber.
Rich was a graduate of LaSalle High School. He was employed as an Auto Mechanic Southwestern Union Chrysler in Cheektowaga, NY and later as a Machinist at Koch Metal Spinning in Buffalo, NY. He also worked at Nitec and owned his own automotive repair shop, R&J Auto. Rich enjoyed rebuilding and restoring antique cars, especially Model A Fords. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, bowhunting and fishing. He also loved hosting pig roasts at his home.
Rich is survived by his wife of 22 years, Deborah A. (Mannarino) Weber; his children, Ken Weber, William Weber, Elizabeth Smith, Frederick (Jennifer) Hammett and Scott Hammett; his grandchildren, Rebecca (Jourdain) Benoit, Alex 'AJ' Hammett, Timothy VanBrocklin and Abigail Smith; a great grandson, Levi Benoit; his siblings, Shirley (Richard) Warner, Lydia (Richard) Strong, and Dennis (Cindy) Weber, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his step-son, Jason Hammett.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 19 from 2 – 6 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin at 6 PM. Interment in McClure Cemetery, Big Run, PA at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the American Diabetes Association, https://www.diabetes.org/donate .
