Richard W. Rydzewski, 85, entered "The Gates of Heaven", on Friday, December 23rd, following a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Robert Sr., and Louise (Kozdranski) Rydzewski.
Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, Richard attended local schools. Until his retirement, he was employed by Walter S. Kozdranski Construction Co., as their Chief-Operating-Engineer. He served in the Knights of Columbus Honor Guard and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Richard was married to Cecelia Kulak. Cecelia passed away, at the young age of 46, due to a cerebral aneurysm. Their 26-year-marriage, together, was priceless!
Richard was the father of Rick (Patricia) Rydzewski and Cyndi (Brian, deceased) Fitzgerald. He is survived by siblings, Robert Jr. (Theresa Kulak) Rydzewski, Florence (Chester, deceased) Kozen, brother-in-law, Stanley (Florence) Kulak, 4 grandchildren (1 predeceased grandson,) 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Richard's true passion was polka dancing. Whenever polka music was playing, Richard would be dancing! Polka dancing was how he met the 2nd, love-of-his-life, Victoria Jasek. She dedicated herself to caring for Richard and loving him, until he drew his final breath. Even with failing health, life was still good, as long as Vicky was by his side!
Memories of Richard's larger-than-life personality, will live on, forever, in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him.
Graveside services will be private. Arrangements by M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL.
