Richard F. Silvaroli, 77, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 25, 2019, in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the beloved son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Chef) Silvaroli.
Rich was a graduate of Bishop Duffy High School in 1959. He served in the United States National Guard for 17 years until his honorable discharge. On November 9, 1969, he married his loving wife, Josephine (Lepiano) Silvaroli at St. Joseph Church. They were longtime parishioners of St. Leo's Church and active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Rich began his work career managing and supervising several local grocery stores including the former Harvest The Best, Jubilee Grocery Store, and Bell's Supermarkets. Rich and his family also owned and operated a butcher shop on Pierce Avenue, Mom's Pizzeria on Buffalo Avenue, and Fresh Mart in North Tonawanda. Prior to his retirement, he worked in the grocery store of Smokin Joes Trading Post. Rich enjoyed watching sports, spending time with his grandchildren and vacationing with his family. He will be sorely missed but greatly remembered by his cherished family and friends.
In addition to his wife of 49 years, Rich is survived by his three children, Richard (Jo Ann) Silvaroli, Nicholas (Katherine) Silvaroli, James (Lisa) Silvaroli; his grandchildren, Tyler, Nicholas and Noah Silvaroli, Amanda (Ryan) Schaal and Adam Holody; two great-grandchildren, Carter Joseph and Madalyn Rose Schaal; his brother-in-law, Frank (Patricia) Lepiano, and his beloved cat Toby. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 30 th from 3 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Richard's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 A.M. in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society's Food Pantry. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
