Richie L. Gore, 80, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2021 at her residence under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born in Andalusia, AL, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Juanita (Sanders) Phelps.

Richie came to the area as a child with her family, and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.  In 1968, she married Howard Gore, who predeceased her on September 17, 1983.  Richie was employed as a Lab Technician at Nabisco Shredded Wheat for 24 years.   She was very active in the local community, and participated in many community projects, including the Head Start Program and the Niagara Falls Senior Program, where she taught arts and crafts, mainly knitting and crocheting.  She also ran a community gardening program to help beautify Niagara Falls, a project she took great pride in.  She was a Mother in the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Niagara Falls, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and gardening in her spare time.

Richie is survived by her children, Jennifer Phelps, Keith (Annick) McCoy, Eric (Pamela) Gore, Phyllis Gore and Phillip (Camille) Gore; her grandchildren, Kolbe, Nicole, Noelle, Khéyana, Keith Jr., Alexander, Kyle, Emani, Nia, Allyah, Kennedy, and Hassani; 4 great grandchildren; 5 sisters, 5 brothers, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 29 from 11 – 12 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304 where funeral services will be held at 12 PM.  Interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
