Rita L. (Racine) Miljour, 80, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at her residence. Born in Angliers, Quebec, Canada she was the daughter of the late George and Eva (Neveu) Racine.

Rita attended school while living in Quebec. On July 4, 1953 she married Andre J. Miljour, Sr. in Quebec and in 1957 they came to the Niagara Falls area with their family, where she lived until the present time. Mr. Miljour predeceased her on February 6, 2004. During the late 1950's and 1960's she was employed as a waitress at local restaurants including the Wedge Restaurant located on Portage Road. In 1973 Rita and her husband owned and operated Papa Leo's Restaurant in Wheatfield, NY and later in the 1970's they became the owners and operaters of Frenchy's Pizzeria in Niagara Falls, NY until she retired in 1995. Rita taught herself how to read and write English. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and also liked camping, especially at her cabin in Quebec. Above all, Rita enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly remembered for her great sense of humor, as well as her love for dancing.

Rita is survived by one son Jack (Arlene) Miljour, N.F.P.D. of Lewiston, NY and was predeceased by two sons André J. (Tracy Gordon) Miljour, Jr. and Dennis Miljour. She is also survived by six grandchildren Lisa, Jack Jr. and Robert Miljour; Nicole, Mara and André III Miljour; six great grandchildren; seven siblings and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one grandson Richard Miljour and four siblings.

Visitation will be on Saturday June 14th from 2 – 5:30 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where a funeral service will follow at 5:30 p.m. with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating.
