Robert “Bob” G. Lewis, 80, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late George and Jane (Szczes) Lewis.

Bob was a proud graduate of Bishop Duffy High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from Niagara University. On August 9, 1969, he married the love of his life, Elaine A. (Rokicki) Lewis, with whom he shared a devoted and joyful marriage of more than five decades.

Bob dedicated his professional life to education, serving the Niagara Falls Board of Education as a Spanish teacher, spending the majority of his career at Gaskill and LaSalle Junior.

A gifted and accomplished coach, Bob made a lasting mark on local athletics. He coached basketball at LaSalle High School and Niagara Catholic, and achieved a remarkable milestone by leading Trott Vocational High School to a state championship. He also coached baseball in the Cayuga Little League, where he inspired countless young athletes.

Bob was an avid sports fan, cheering passionately for the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, Cleveland Indians, Boston Celtics, and Duke University basketball. He also enjoyed competing in a fantasy baseball league for more than 40 years, a tradition that brought him great joy and camaraderie.

Above all, Bob cherished time with his family. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he took immense pride in every moment spent with them.

In addition to his beloved wife, Elaine, Bob is survived by their daughter, Suzanne (Gary) Stumpf; two grandchildren, Ryan Stumpf and Erica Stumpf, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Richard (late Cindy) Lewis.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 23 from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 7:00 PM. Interment will be held privately for the family. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
