Robert J. 'Bob' Tavano, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on January 20, 2025, at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Cubello) Tavano.

Bob was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and later attended Michigan State University in Lansing, MI.  He owned and operated Royal Travel in Niagara Falls, NY for over 20 years and also worked as an Insurance Agent for various local firms, but continued working actively as a business entrepreneur up until his passing.  Bob was the former Republican Chairman for the City of Niagara Falls, and was also a member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society, Knights of Columbus Council #247, the Como Dinner Club, and the Century Club.

Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.  More than anything, he loved spending time in the summers at his pool with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his wife, Josephine A. (Muto) Tavano; his children, Kelly (Kevin) Michael, Kathy (Julian) Urban, and Robert (Lynette) Tavano, Jr.; his grandchildren, Marissa (Gary) Rogers, Kayla Michael, Jenna Michael, Robert Tavano III, and Korena Tavano; his great-grandchildren, Liliana and Ryan, his in-laws, Tony (Joan) Muto and Vince Muto, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Lewis (Nanette) Tavano and Samuel (Sheila) Tavano.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24 from 3 – 6 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin at 6 PM.  Private interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY, will be held for Bob's family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, www.niagara-hospice.org/.   Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
