Robert J. DiCamillo, 94, of Lewiston, New York, formerly of Niagara Falls, New York, passed away peacefully at home on January 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1932, in Niagara Falls, New York, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary (Tavano) DiCamillo, and the beloved husband of the late Sophie A. (Sidoni) DiCamillo, who predeceased him in 2021, after 65 years of marriage.

Bob attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1949. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1954, achieving the rank of Corporal. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Sophie, at St. Joseph’s Church in Niagara Falls, New York. After many years of working in the construction industry, he began his career working for the City of Niagara Falls as a building inspector for over 25 years. He will be remembered for his vivid memory, wealth of knowledge, passion for history, and creative abilities. Above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

Bob is survived by his children, Denise (David) Appel, Robert (JoAnn) DiCamillo, and Debbie (Craig) Walters; grandchildren Megan (Nick) Hill, Lauren (Mark) Bodnar, Lindsay (Denny) Flynn, Marissa (Pete) Farrell, Michael Walters, Matthew Walters, and Jessica (Henry) Saenz; great‑grandchildren Nico, Angelo, and Luca Hill; Teddy, Leo, and Oliver Flynn; and Sam and Jack Bodnar. He also leaves behind many special family members, including his sister-in-law, Rose DiCamillo, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his siblings, Patrick (Rose) DiCamillo and Virginia (late James) Pascoe; brothers and sisters‑in‑law Mary (late Peter) Colosi, Rose (late Sam) Antonucci, and Joseph (late Anita) Sidoni; and his mother and father-in-law, Angelo and Josephine (Scibilia) Sidoni.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, from 4–7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Robert’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301, followed by entombment with Military Honors in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
