Robert J. Dorato, Sr., 88 of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on June 17, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Paul and Lena (Janese) Dorato.

Robert served in the United States Army from 1953 during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1955.  On June 16, 1956 he married Mary Ann (Colosi) Dorato at St. Joseph's Church.  Robert was employed for 42 years at Great Lakes Carbon/SGL Carbon as a Carbon Inspector retiring in 1993.  He was a member of the Volare Lodge and Italian Sons and Daughters of America.  He was an avid Yankees fan, enjoyed fishing and golfing with his brothers and coffee at Tim Horton's with the "crew".   Robert loved the casino and their "buffet waitresses".  Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of 66 years, Robert is survived by his children, Linda (Tom) Irving, Robert (Denice) Dorato, Jr. and Roxanne Dorato; his grandchildren, James "Jamie" (Tracy) Irving, Marissa (Christopher) Huntsman, Christina Dorato, Dalana (Joseph) Farns, Robert (fiancé Jen) Dorato, III, and Joseph Dorato; great grandchildren, Jayden, Carissa, Christopher, Tyler, Gina, Olivia, Ethan, Robert IV, Amelia and Armani, his beloved dog CoCo as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Frank Dorato, Michael (Margaret) Dorato, Paul (Nancy) Dorato, Jr., Caroline (late Thomas) Sciortino and George (late Maxine) Dorato.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 20 from 3 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304.  Robert's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.  Everyone please assemble at church.  Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery with Military Honors.  Memorial offerings may be made to the American Heart / Stroke Association and Alzheimer's Association.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
